Lesson 27 of 32
Confidence Is A Choice Before It's A Feeling
Don't wait to feel confident to act confident. Your presence sends a message before you ever say a word.
The Lesson
For one reason or another, a lot of people wait to feel confident before they act confident. This backwards approach keeps them stuck in cycles of self-doubt and missed opportunities. In moments of uncertainty, your posture, your tone, and your willingness to take up space signal to others (and to yourself) that you are someone to be taken seriously.
This isn't about being arrogant or pretending to know everything. It's about communicating that you believe in the value you bring, even when you're still figuring things out. Confidence is a skill you can practice, not just an emotion you wait to feel. When you choose to project quiet, steady self-assurance, you create space for your ideas to be heard and your contributions to be recognized.
The people who advance aren't necessarily the most qualified - they're often the ones who act like they belong in rooms where opportunities are discussed and decisions are made.
The Question
In what situation are you making yourself small not because you lack capability, but because you're waiting for someone else to give you permission to take up space?
