Week 3 · The PeopleRelationships, communication, and showing up for others.

Lesson 11 of 32

Your Life Moves At The Speed Of Your Relationships

Your life moves at the speed of your relationships. The right connections don't just open doors, they show you which doors exist.

The Lesson

The time to build your network is long before you actually need it. So forget about collecting contacts and focus on developing real relationships built on mutual trust. The strongest networks aren't built on transactions; they come from a genuine interest in other people, where quality always matters more than quantity.

Think of it this way: your network determines your entire information flow, from the opportunities you learn about to the insights you gain. When you consistently invest in people without expecting an immediate payoff, you create a reservoir of goodwill that becomes invaluable down the road. The best rule of thumb is simple: be as interested in giving as you are in receiving.

The Question

Who in your network are you avoiding reaching out to because you "don't want to bother them" - when they might actually benefit from hearing from you and your avoidance is really just fear of seeming needy?
